A digital evolutionist assists people in embracing new technological systems as they come into existence on the web.
The digital world is constantly changing. Books don't even stay the same anymore. Take a moment and think back to last year, how different was it? Technology, and thus the web is said to be evolving at an exponential rate.
We need people who are able to sit at the edge, observe the ebb and flow of technology, and report back about what is happening. A digital evolutionist is a map maker, but not of geography -- instead a digital evolutionist maps the edge of the digital space as it grows and changes.
In order to stay on the cutting edge of digital technologies, a digital evolutionist untethers from old technologies as they become obsolete. A digital evolutionist sees every technology they use as an experiment. Many services and communities on the web have come and gone since I started publishing online. Many more will come and go as we move into the future.
It's a digital evolutionist's job to assess wether technologies, new or old, are working. If they're not? A digital evolutionist untethers.
