A digital sabbatical is a break from the Internet.
It's a retreat from the constant back and forth of digital connection.
It's a chance to look within myself for answers.
I won't be:
Checking email
Tweeting
Searching
Instagr.aming
Writing for the public web
I will be:
Writing The Letter
Exploring my world
Enjoying the sunshine, swimming in warm lakes, practicing yoga on rocks, and drinking wine as the sun sets.
Why take a digital sabbatical?
In our hyper-connected society, it's more important than ever to take the time to pull the plug once in awhile. The Internet can turn from a tool into an addiction. Many people don't even know that they're addicted in the first place.
This is why I choose to take a break, to reconvene with myself, to craft my work from a non-connected place.
