Creating for the Intuitive Net

"The power of Twitter language is in intuitive transmission." -- J.S.

I made the decision recently that I want to focus my attention on creating for a small group of highly intuitive collaborators that I've begun working with on the Net.

This is difficult for the less-intuitive, because suddenly the data-transmission for them dropped significantly. They're lost in a world where a small group of people are thriving.

Luckily, some have the ability to translate from one language to the other.

The minds of the Net migrate with the flows of data. When we're looking, we tend to eventually find the data that really matters to us.

The tendency for those of us who create in public is to try and reach the broadest range of people possible. If I have a big audience, I'll be successful, right? I've always found the opposite is true. When you create in an incredibly deliberate/specific way, the work has power. When work has power, people will care for it.

There are two kinds of creators on the Net. People who aim to please as many as possible, and people who try reach the depths of what is possible. These views are in opposition.

More of the work that I'm doing is actually in the spaces in-between the tweets. Highly intuitive readers know what I'm talking about, they can see data in the emptiness.

Twitter's power is that it builds intuition -- when used mindfully.

How to use Twitter in a way that builds your intuition:

  1. Follow less than 150 people.

  2. Follow people who look familiar.

  3. Unfollow anyone you stop recognizing.

  4. Don't worry about who's following you.

  5. Feel your way down from 150 follows to zero.

  6. Use a picture of your face.

  7. Close your eyes, feel the space in-between the tweets.

I believe this will help you and us create a new Internet.

It's also my belief that Path builds intuition faster.

You need a practice for this to work.
