Why I Outsource Food and Drink

I outsource my food preparation, so I can focus on the work.

I outsource my food preparation, so I can focus on the work.

While I was in Seattle, I prepared all of my own meals. This took a lot of time, and energy. It also cost money to set up, and later donate, kitchen supplies when I left.

When I'm in San Francisco (last year, and the recent trip) and now that I'm wandering through Mexico, I've decided to outsource all of my food and drink needs. This means that I trend towards getting almost all of my meals and drinks prepared for me locally.

In San Francisco and Mexico, this is a healthy and inexpensive option for me. I trend towards eating vegetarian options (sometimes shrimp), as well as many green (sometimes fruit) smoothies as I can put in myself as I'm doing the work. In the morning I have an egg breakfast with fruit or vegetables and coffee to get the day started.

The trick here is that outsourcing food options doesn't work everywhere. In Seattle, I quickly found that I couldn't outsource my food -- food quality in Seattle? Medium/low. This state of affairs challenged me, because I had to dedicate hours of my day to food prep, when I'd otherwise spend this time doing the work. In San Francisco and where I am in Mexico? I'm able to maintain ideal health and outsource my food.

The cost involved in outsourcing my food prep varies by location. In San Francisco? It's expensive, but ultimately worth it to me. In Mexico? I've found that the food is inexpensive and amazing.
