Why You Deserve Options

In 1999, Seth Godin wrote a book called Permission Marketing. I read it 10 years later in 2009 on a train ride from Portland, OR to Chicago. I was about to launch my first book. This book changed the way I think about publishing for a living on the web.

The premise is simple: if you gather permission from a group of people, they will support you. Don't pitch strangers, instead invite your friends to support you. When a stranger pitches me, it feels like my private space has been violated. Pitching strangers makes strangers not like you.

I trust you, and want to do everything in my power to deliver my work to you in a way that you prefer.

This is why I believe you deserve options.

I've been posting a lot here at Evbogue.com. Many of you receive updates via Email. I believe that email is your sanctuary, and so you deserve to decide how often you receive emails from. This is why I've decided to give you some options.

1. Daily blog posts.

If you want to receive emails every time I write a blog post, this is your option.

2. Weekly blog posts.

If you want to receive emails weekly, every Monday, with all of my posts from the last week, this is your option.

3. Sales and Discounts.

When I offer a product to the web, I commonly let the people who subscribe to email know first. If you're interested in receiving steep discounts (the last group of early sign-ups received a discount of $44 off the list price of my product.) Then make sure this box is checked. If you don't want me to trouble you with asking for money, uncheck it. No harm done, you won't be asked to support my work until after the sales are over (if there are slots available.)

4. Evolution Assists.

Occasionally I offer 1-on-1 consulting over Skype or Email. If you check this box, I'll let you know when that's available and the details.

Best, Ev
