I'm getting on train headed south from Seattle today. I'm not sure where I'm going, but I'll let you know when I get there. I'll be writing more about what's up in my world on Evolving Your Digital Work.
One of the most popular posts I wrote here on Evbogue.com last month was when I wrote about my personal Things. (Actually, the most popular posts I've ever written ever over the past two years of living out of a backpack have been about what I pack. I shouldn't be so surprised.)
I untethered from a whole bunch of stuff since the last post on my Things, and made some significant upgrades to my wardrobe.
I've been living out of a bag for over two years now. Over time, I've streamlined what I need significantly. I used to pack three times as much as this when I didn't know where I was going.
I don't have a secret storage locker in the world somewhere with junk in it. These are all of my Things.
Here is what I pack when I don't know where I'm going:
Nau Jacket Outlier Wool Pullover Grey T-shirt Vibrams (these are women's Vibrams size 42. The men's are too wide for me.) Two tanks Two pairs of yoga pants Wallet with cash-money $$ Grey soft T-shirt Wool and non-wool toe socks Leg warmers Nau Jacket Outlier Climbing pants Outlier ride to work pants Ibex woolies 3 pairs (I can wear these for days without them smelling, amazing.) Outlier wool t-shirt Grey long sleeve t-shirt iPhone Skullcandy earbuds Macbook Air 11inch Incase Laptop sleeve Notebooks from Paper Hammer Think and Grow Rich (more of an invocation than reading material now.) Pocket knife for eating veggies Hard drive Little moleskine notebooks for to-dos, ideas Passport and other docs Pens So I know which way reality is Assorted necessary things for human existence Jade Yoga travel mat Small backpack
And everything packs up into my backpacking bag. Ta-da!
